Bill spent many years as a research metallurgist working for a commercial research centre, the National Physical Laboratory and laterally DTI. He died on the 9th of June 2022 aged 85 after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis, COPD and then bladder cancer, and a stroke. His main passion was sailing from sailing dinghies to sailing to Gibraltar. Â A sport his family still enjoy.
