The Monmothian Charitable Trust is a registered charity which can attract Gift Aid, a UK tax incentive that enables tax-effective giving by individuals in the United Kingdom. It allows individuals who are subject to UK income tax to complete a simple, short declaration that they are a UK taxpayer. Any cash donations that the taxpayer makes to the charity after making a declaration are treated as being made after deduction of income tax and the charity can reclaim the income tax paid on the gift from HMRC.
Perhaps you may wish to consider remembering your School in your Will. Legacies are a tax efficient way of making a donation to the Monmothian Charitable Trust. If you wish you can specify your particular interest such as Bursaries, Rowing, Music, a capital project or any area of interest. Your own solicitor will be able to make any necessary arrangements – an excellent way of recognising the influences of Monmouth School.
